Publisher review:virtualPCR generates real-time PCR plots based on a given amount of cDNA. Install: unzip and put all the files in one directory.Use: Fill in the amount of cDNA (ng), dNTPs (ng), primers/probe (ng), the efficiency of the primer-probe, the name of the sample and the number of cycles. Press 'Add Sample' to add it to the list. After adding all the samples press 'Calculate' to start the reaction.
An image of the amplification plot can be saved in the directory of the program and the results can be seen in the command window by clicking 'Visualize results'. If you want to remove samples click 'Clear samples'. The scale of the Y-axis can be changed by using the radio buttons on the left. The listbox shows the samples list which were added. The program is based on the basic kinetics of a pcr reaction. See doRTReaction.m for the algorithm.
